About Dr. Claudia Pinter
-
Even as a small child, I had a special curiosity for medicine. I was thrilled when my father, a doctor himself, was able to explain to me how certain processes (e.g. wound healing) work in the body.
My passion for helping people later defined my career choice.
I was particularly fascinated by orthodontics, as it represents the interface between medicine, esthetics and physics.
-
My studies in dentistry began in Würzburg, Germany, and later led me back to the Medical University of Vienna, where I obtained my doctorate. Throughout my training, I was fortunate to be guided by exceptionally good teachers, who not only gave me my professional foundation, but also helped me to develop my full potential.
-
After graduating, I initially worked as a dentist before deciding to specialize in orthodontics. Along the way, I also had the privilege of learning from experienced orthodontists - first and foremost Dr. Barbara Kitzmantel, who always pursued the highest standards of quality in her practice.
Through the combination of in-service courses and practical experience over several years, I obtained the qualification as an elective orthodontist and, with the introduction of the specialist dentist in September 2023, also the official qualification as a specialist dentist for orthodontics.
-
Today I dedicate myself exclusively to orthodontics, with a focus on treatments with clear aligners to achieve an optimal bite and an attractive smile.
However, as the name orthodontics suggests, that is not all. In addition to correcting misaligned teeth and jaws, orthodontists also aim to achieve the ideal development, dimensions and position of the jaws.
-
After working intensively on esthetics and function in the context of aligner therapy, I became increasingly interested in how I could also promote the general health of my patients through orthodontic measures. As a result, I began to focus more on widening the upper jaw to improve nasal breathing - an area pioneered by the research of Dr. Stanley Liu in particular.
This treatment can not only improve nasal breathing, but often also general well-being, as free breathing contributes to better sleep and more energy in everyday life.
-
The support of my mentors along the way inspired me to become a teacher myself. In addition to my practice, I run the Fellowship in Aligner Orthodontics, which offers colleagues worldwide access to advanced training in the field of aligners.
A special project close to my heart is my role as "Visiting Faculty" at Nova Southeastern University, where I am able to supervise prospective orthodontists in teaching and research.
I also have the privilege of sharing innovative treatment methods at international congresses and staying at the cutting edge of science.
