Listen to the story of an 8 year old boy struggling to breathe
Keyan’s breathing problems began before his second birthday. What started as a constantly runny nose soon led to persistent mouth breathing, repeated bronchitis episodes, and eventually an asthma diagnosis. Despite countless pediatric and ENT visits, he continued to struggle with snoring, poor sleep, fatigue, and nasal obstruction. Steroidal sprays provided only temporary relief and did not address the underlying cause.
Over the next years, his mother searched tirelessly for answers. Early orthodontic appliances and treatments offered minor improvements, but nothing resulted in lasting change. The true issue — a narrow maxilla that was too small to support proper tongue posture and nasal breathing — remained untreated.
In 2024, Keyan began myofunctional therapy with Renata Nehme (@myomoves) to retrain his tongue posture. This became the turning point. His therapist referred him to Dr. Claudia Pinter, who recognized the underlying structural problem and guided them through a comprehensive plan: upper jaw expansion combined with carefully sequenced aligner therapy to harmonize the upper and lower jaws.
The results were remarkable.
Keyan’s facial features became more balanced, his tired expression disappeared, and — most importantly — he stopped snoring completely. He now breathes through his nose day and night, sleeps deeply, and has more energy. Bedwetting resolved, his weight stabilized, and his overall health and wellbeing improved dramatically.
This journey is still ongoing, but the transformation has already changed Keyan’s life. His mother expresses deep gratitude for Dr. Pinter’s expertise, dedication, and genuine care — and for helping her son become a healthier, happier child.
